PURPOSE: A method for setting stirring time that is the most effective in reduction of center segregation when performing electromagnetic stirring at the final stage of solidification to reduce center segregation during the continuous casting process of bloom and billet of molten steel is provided. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises a step of segmenting electromagnetic stirring time according to C wt.% so that the more the C wt.% is increased, the thinner stirring thickness becomes in case of performing electromagnetic stirring at the final stage of solidification to reduce center segregation when continuously casting carbon steel into bloom and billet, wherein the optimum stirring thickness (mm) of the bloom is controlled to 156-130xC wt.% to 166-130xC wt.% if C wt.% is in the range of 0.6 to 1.1, and the optimum stirring thickness (mm) of the billet is controlled to 68-26xC wt.% to 78-26xC wt.% if C wt.% is in the range of 0.2 to 0.8 when magnetic stirring molten carbon steel in the continuous casting process.
