PURPOSE: Polyester fiber is characterized by having low degree of orientation, low tenacity and high flexibility, being capable of being dyed with disperse dyes and basic dyes at normal pressure and reducing a dyeing cost. A manufacturing method is characterized by having excellent productivity and omitting a drawing step. The polyester grey yarn is useful for industrial grey yarn. CONSTITUTION: Polyester fiber having low tenacity and high flexibility is obtained by the steps of: preparing an ester compound containing metallic sulfonates having a repeat unit of formula(I); adding 1.0-1.5mol% of the ester compound based on an acid ingredient of polyester for polymerizing polyester to manufacture a melted solution of polyester copolymer; spinning the solution through a spinning base at over 6000m/min. of spinning speed; passing the polymer through a heating hood installed on a lower part of the spinning base; and then winding filament. In the formula(I), =Z-SO3M is the metallic sulfonate salt of bivalent arylene group or bivalent alkylene group; M is alkali metal; -X- is bivalent group selected from the group containing -O-C=O, -O-(CH2)n-(O(CH2)n)m-O- or O=C-(O-(CH2)n)-O-; and -Y- is the same as -X- or hydrogen. In -X-, n and m are integers bigger than 1.
