PURPOSE: A plasma display panel is provided to achieve improved reproductivity of a front substrate structure by using slits for preventing discharge losses, and improved contrast by using a color filter layer. CONSTITUTION: A plasma display panel comprises a rear substrate structure(21) including a first substrate and a plurality of data electrodes formed on an inner surface of the first substrate; and a front substrate structure(22) including a second substrate, a plurality of transparent electrodes formed on an inner surface of the second substrate, a plurality of bus electrodes(22c) formed on the inner surface of the second substrate and electrically connected to the transparent electrodes, stopper members for protecting the bus electrodes from discharges from the transparent electrodes and preventing discharges on the bus electrodes, and a plurality of connecting portions for electrically connecting one of the transparent electrodes to the related one of the bus electrodes. A gas sealed between the front substrate structure and the rear substrate structure is discharged so as to generate plasma. The stopper members are formed by gaps between the connecting portions. The transparent electrodes have rectangular structures, and are directly connected to the bus electrodes through the connecting portions.
