PURPOSE: A safety improvement method of a machine against explosion and the machine including the optimal apparatus are provided to prevent fire and explosion by supplying the extinguishing agent including water into the casing connected with the driving mechanism in increasing temperature. CONSTITUTION: A driving mechanism is arranged in a crank casing(1), and lubricant is supplied to the driving mechanism. The driving mechanism has a crankshaft(6), a piston(5) and parts(7,8,9) connecting the piston to the crankcase. In the event of the unacceptable increase of temperature in the region of the driving mechanism, quenching fluid is applied to the inside of the crank casing. The quenching fluid comprises at least water in the form of a mist of small droplets. The quenching fluid is pressurized and heated to more than 100 deg.C. The fire or explosion of the large two-stroke diesel engine including the driving mechanism arranged in a casing to receive lubricant is prevented to improve safety.
