Decoding device having a turbo decoder and an RS decoder concatenated serially and a decoding method performed by the same

A Reed Solomon (RS) decoder (150) decodes a signal decoded by a turbo decoder (120), and outputs a completion signal on completing an error correction process. A controller (140) controls the turbo decoder to repeat the decoding process for specific number of times until the completion signal is output. An independent claim is also included for decoding method.
