PURPOSE: A digital video recorder and a digital video recording method for multiple-channel transmission and storage by extracting unit bit data from inputted voice data and transmitting unit bit data are provided to improve storage efficiency of voice data by converting analog voice data into digital voice data. CONSTITUTION: The first clock generating module(130) generates serial clocks according to an I2S(Inter-IC Sound) method. The second clock generating module(140) generates left channel clocks of the I2S method and right channel clocks of the I2S method. An interface module(110) receives analog voice data from a voice collecting element of each photographing apparatus(180). A data generating module(120) encodes the analog voice data by the I2S method for generating audio data. A channel control module(160) decides a transmission channel for transmitting the encoded audio data. A compression and storage module(170) synchronizes the audio data included in the left channel clocks or right channel clocks with image data for compressing and storing the data by the decided channels.
