A POWER SUPPLY CONTROL DEVICE FOR CUTTING OFF STAND-BY ELECTRIC POWER AND FOR SAVING ELECTRIC POWER, A CONTROL METHOD THEREOF AND A POWER SAVING SYSTEM

PURPOSE: A power saving outlet, its control method and power saving system is provided to completely cut off the electric power supplied for peripherals of a computer if signals are not input from a keyboard or a mouse for a certain time. CONSTITUTION: The outlet device comprises a connector(3) and a main controller(5). The connector(3) includes a plurality of terminals(31,32,33,34). The main controller(5) includes a main outlet(52) and a plurality of auxiliary outlets(53,54,55,56). The terminals(31,32,33,34) is connected to a mouse(1), a keyboard(2), a main body of a PC(4), and the main controller(5), respectively. Any kind of mouse can be connected, for example, a PS/2 type, a USB type, an optical type or an RF type. In the case of the RF type mouse, an RF module must be embedded in the connector(3). The connector(3) embeds a circuit for connecting signal lines, which connects the terminals(31,32 to the terminal(33) and connects a data signal and a clock signal among signal lines of the mouse and the keyboard to the terminal(34). A terminal(51) of the main controller is connected to the connector(3). The main outlet(52) supplies power for the main body of the PC(4), and the auxiliary outlets(53,54,55,56) supplying power for peripherals such as a monitor, a speaker, a printer or a scanner. The main controller(5) receives commercial AC power via an input terminal, where the main outlet(52) is directly connected to the AC power, and the auxiliary outlets(53,54,55,56) is connected to the AC power via an output circuit with an on-off function. The main controller(5) checks if the user uses the computer based on the clock signals and the data signals input via the connector(3). If the user does not user the computer for a set time, the main controller(5) cuts off the power supplied for the auxiliary outlets(53,54,55,56).
