EMULSION EXPLOSIVE WITH IMPROVED PROPERTIES FOR IMPACT RESISTANCE AND STORAGE STABILITY

PURPOSE: Provided are emulsion explosives with improved impact resistance and storage stability by using thick shell plastic micro balloon(PMB) made of polymers excellent in chemical resistance instead of conventional glass micro balloon(GMB) or PMB as a sensitizer. CONSTITUTION: The water in oil type emulsion explosives comprise oxidizing solution, carbon-solution, emulsifier and plastic micro balloon(PMB) filled with active or inert gas. The PMB, having 0.04-0.1g/cc of specific gravity, 20-100micrometer of particle size and 0.2-10micrometer of thickness, contains vinyl diene chloride(VDC) including more than 50wt.% of acrylonitrile(ACN), copolymers of methyl meta acrylate(MMA), ACN or polymers of ACN. The oxidizing solution is one or more of water and ammonium nitrate, sodium nitrate, sodium chlorate, sodium perchlorate, monomethyl amine nitrate and hydrazine nitrate. The carbon solution is one or more of wax, mineral oil and gasoline.
