PURPOSE: Provided is an SBR(Sequencing Batch Reactor) system for reducing sludge production. In the SBR system, sludge produced in SBR is stored in a tank, and aerobic bacteria are inoculated into the sludge for decomposing organics of sludge in the aerobic and anoxic conditions. And residual sludge is mixed with oxidant for oxidation of sludge. Continuously oxidized sludge is recycled to SBR as organics and carbon sources of denitrification and phosphorus removal. Consequently sludge volume of SBR is reduced efficiently. CONSTITUTION: The system is characterized by the following steps: (a) discharging sludge produced in SBR at idle process of SBR; (b) storing sludge in the tank; (c) inoculating aerobic bacteria into the sludge and mixing the sludge with oxidant; and (d) recycling the sludge to SBR. Recycled sludge is used as organics and carbon sources for denitrification and phosphorus removal.
