PURPOSE: An unmanned monitoring system for dividing a monitoring area into a plurality of regions and monitoring the regions is provided to minimize waste of an image storage space of a database. CONSTITUTION: An unmanned monitoring system includes at least one image capturing unit(301), an image storage unit(303), an image comparator(305), and a controller(307). The image capturing unit captures images of a monitoring area divided into a plurality of regions and outputs the current image corresponding to the captured images. The image storage unit stores predetermined background image of the monitoring area and the current image. The image comparator reads the background image from the storage unit and compares the background image with the current image output from the image capturing unit by the divided regions, and outputs the comparison result and the current image. The controller reads the comparison result and, when the current image of a predetermined region is different from the background image, stores the current image in the image storage unit.
