PURPOSE: A backfilling method for a structure, using a light earth material obtained from a waste styrofoam particle is provided to improve the strength, earthquake-proof property and anti-frost property of the earth material and operation efficiency. CONSTITUTION: The backfilling method for a structure comprises the steps of: digging an adjacent ground(1) and constructing a wall body(4); locating a drainage material in the upper part of the original ground at the back of the wall body to facilitate the drainage; disposing a light earth material(3) at the back of the constructed wall body(4) in the thickness of 30-50 cm and tamping and rolling the earth; covering a cover earth(5) using high-quality soil sands in the thickness of 50 cm; and constructing the ground firmly through a final rolling treatment and leveling. The backfilling method is characterized in that the light earth material(3) comprises the soil sands generated in a construction site, such as sands, weathered soils and cohesive soils and 50-150% of waste styrofoam particles based on the volume of the soil sands, to which 3-9 wt% of a cement as a solidifier and 1-3 wt% of an stabilizer composed of a fly ash and an alcohol ethoxylate based on the weight of the soil sands are added to be the water content of 10-20%.
