Methods for identification of Korean wild mountain ginseng

PURPOSE: Provided is a method for accurately distinguishing korean mountain ginseng No.1-KM14 from chinese mountain ginseng No.1-CM7 by analyzing morphological, genetic and proteomical features, and bioprobes. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises the steps of: analyzing morphological features between korean mountain ginseng and chinese mountain ginseng; extracting DNAs from both korean mountain ginseng and chinese mountain ginseng and performing PCR and electrophoresis to analyzed differences of each DNA band by RAPD; extracting proteins from both korean mountain ginseng and chinese mountain ginseng and quantifying the extracted proteins; performing SDS-PAGE and 2D gel electrophoresis to compare each protein pattern; then comparing each peak pattern analyzed by gas chromatography with methanol extracts of both korean mountain ginseng and chinese mountain ginseng, analyzing and comparing the contents of panaxydol and panaxynol by gas-chromatography, quantifying, qualifying and comparing each fatty acid contained in each methanol extract by gas-liquid chromatography, analyzing and comparing amino acid by HPLC, comparing the content of acidic polysaccharide by measuring absorbency and analyzing and comparing phenol components by gas-liquid chromatography.
