PURPOSE: An apparatus for and a method of providing an Internet phone call service using an intercommunication service are provided to enable subscribers to make a free call between areas where additional voice-dedicated lines are installed and enable a user to call with a user who is connected to a PSTN(Public Switched Telephone Network) by local call charge or discounted charge according to a point where a gateway is installed as well as to make a call to a user of a mobile telephone by discounted charge. CONSTITUTION: In the apparatus for providing an Internet phone call service, an intercommunication service unit(10) provides with the intercommunication service by using of a telephone(11) and an intercommunication switch(12). A gateway(21) on one side performs a network pointing function in connection to the intercommunication switch(12). An Internet network(24) is connected to the gateway(21). An Internet phone call service unit(30) is connected to the Internet network(24) and performs an Internet phone call service for a discounted charge according to the point of gateway(21). A gate way(28) on the other side is connected to the Internet phone call service unit(30) through the Internet network(24) and performs the network pointing function. A PSTN(Public Switched Telephone Network)(29) is connected to the gateway(28). A terminating terminal unit(40) is connected to the PSTN(29) and receiving Internet telephone call through the Internet phone call service unit(30).
