INGOT MOLD FOR CASTING PIGS OF MODIFYING MASTER ALLOYS

FIELD: foundry, namely pig casting. SUBSTANCE: vertical detachable ingot mold includes separable lateral walls between which insert is placed. On inner surfaces of lateral walls and on both sides of insert there are mutually symmetrical recesses forming two narrowing downwards casting cavities. Each cavity is provided with gating system having funnel and riser rounded in lower end. Lateral walls are mutually joined at one end by means of cylindrical axle and at other end they are provided with clamp. Casting cavities have next dimensions, mm: rounding radius of end walls and bottom R = 20 - 25; length L = 480 - 500; height H = 250 - 260; width of upper portion a = 25 - 32; width of lower portion b = 18 - 22. Gating system has next dimensions, mm: diameter of funnel d = 60 - 80; thickness of riser c = 12 - 15; height of gating system h = 230 - 240; length of gating system l = 90 - 100. Invention allows to increase intensity of heat release from solidified casting due to small thickness and increased area of lateral surface of casting cavity.
