Internal energy of compressed gaseous working medium is increased by communicating working chamber at internal: end of compression stroke - beginning of expansion stroke, with container with gaseous heat carrier whose temperature and pressure exceed temperature and pressure of gaseous working medium in working chamber, in combination with supply of heat to gaseous heat carrier in container to restore said excess before subsequent communication of working chamber with container.
