METHOD FOR SURGICAL TREATMENT OF DIABETIC RETINOPATHY COMPLICATED WITH RETINAL EDEMA

FIELD: medicine, ophthalmology. SUBSTANCE: one should carry out subtotal vitrectomy, inject liquid PFOS into vitreous cavity. Terms for carrying out postoperative laser coagulation should be determined due to performing optic coherent tomography (OCT). For this purpose one should conduct OCT in postoperative period daily. At equal values of retinal thickness in macular area detected according to OCT data against those according to OCT data of previous day one should conduct laser coagulation transpupillarily. Moreover, next day PFOS should be removed. The present method enables to carry out laser coagulation at achieving the least degree of retinal edema that, in its turn, enables to prevent postoperative complications.
