A layer (3) of closed-pore foam is adhered to the tire (2) inner surface. An Independent claim is included for the production of the tire. Preferably the foaming liquid is spun into the unvulcanized or vulcanized tire, during manufacture. Vulcanization completes foaming and hardening.
