Covering cap for severing explosively using an electrically ignitable blasting charge (4) comprises a cap (1) held on its edge by a hinge joint (2) and a pull-off fixing (3). During severing the cap pivots about the movement pole of the hinge joint and automatically separates on reaching a defined pivot angle. The blasting charge is arranged in the cap. The ignition cable (5) for the blasting charge is automatically separated by a cutting edge in the hinge joint. Preferred Features: The pull-off fixing is a screw with a notched pre-determined breaking point. The cap covers a seeking system (6) located on the structure (7) of a missile.
