Method for displaying values or alterable quantities for household appliances such as cookers or fridges. According to the method each value range, e.g. temperature range, is assigned a color in a predefined color scale output to an indicator or display. Alternately the display can have a background color together with the actual value in figures. The invention also relates to a corresponding device for method implementation and a household appliance with an inventive device.
