The housing cover (2) has an elastomeric sealing profile (8) between the edge of the cover and a mounting flange (7) on the engine block (4). A part (9) integrated into the sealing profile consists of a material whose physical properties can vary with engine parameters, e.g. revolution rate, temperature, pressure so a defined damping profile can be set up in the sealing profile. The part consists of an electromagnet and at least one other magnet.
