Cooler for frequency converter of speed controllable AC motor for waste heat convection of converter components, with braking resistance incorporated integrally in extruded cooler

The variable frequency fed, speed controllable AC motor is operated by a braking circuit with a braking resistance, integrated in a cooler (1) for waste heat convection of parts of motor frequency converter. The cooler is an extruded Al profile, containing a longitudinal tube(s) for the braking resistance, with the tube having a square or rectangular cross-section. The tube is formed by two cooling fins (3), of several such fins, protruding from base plate (2). They limit two tube sides, while the other two sides are limited by fins connecting straps (4).
