The system has at least one electric motor peak current load for an electromechanical braking and/or steering system arranged in a safety-relevant electrical sub-system with an associated battery and capacitor and connected to the rest of the electrical system via a decoupling device. The capacitor is dimensioned to cover the required peak current at low road friction values and is undersized for peak currents for high road friction values. The system has at least one electric motor peak current load for an electromechanical braking and/or steering system. The peak current load is arranged in a safety-relevant electrical sub-system (5) with an associated battery (7) and capacitor (10,11) and is connected to the rest of the electrical system via a decoupling device. The capacitance of the capacitor is dimensioned to cover the required peak current at low road friction values and is undersized for peak currents for high road friction values.
