The shaft bearing (1) has an elastic damping element (4) connected to a bearing support (5) with form-locking, and a minimal radial clearance exists between the damping element and bearing support and allows a small rotation of the damping element in relation to the bearing support and this effects a change in the spring characteristic in the neutral point region. The spring characteristic changes in the neutral point region from a degressive character to a progressive character.
