A method for transmitting information in a RF communication system with at least one subscriber station and at least one base station interconnected by an aerial interface, and in which the bit-rate of at least one link between the subscriber- and base-station is variable. The time-standardized capacity utilization (ZGA) of at least one transmission channel is determined, and this ZGA is then compared with at least one threshold value, and the over-exceeding or under-exceeding of this ZGA from this, at least, one threshold value is tested, and from the result an increase or a reduction or a maintaining of the bit-rate of the link is required. At least one network-side device of the communication system carries out an increase or reduction or a maintaining of the bit-rate of the at least one link, according to this requirement.
