A composition (A) for coating implants comprises a mixture of at least one low-molecular or oligomeric estrogen ester (I) and at least one estrogen (II). An Independent claim is included for a method for coating implants, involving application of (A) by dipping or spraying, to give a homogeneous, non-crystalline, homgeneous surface providing gradual, slow release of (II) in the human organism.
