A method for determining of rheological parameters of a flowing fluid, in particular a suspension or emulsion, which by means of a line, in particular a tube, is promoted, wherein the method by means of ultrasound - doppler - method and of at least two pressure measurements information detected by means of the flowing fluid. This information is evaluated in accordance with the invention by determining the wall shear stress in the fluid along the direction of flow of fluid flow in the of the ultrasonic waves irradiated area of the fluid flow; determining of the fluid - velocity profile in the fluid in a direction transverse to the direction of flow of the fluid flow in the area irradiated by the ultrasonic waves of the fluid flow and selecting, as well as adaptation of a suitable (adaptive) model for the viscosity function (shear viscosity) and a suitable boundary conditions for the flowing fluid.
