Organic transition metal compound(s) (A), organo metallic compound(s) (B), organic compound(s) (C) having functional group(s) containing active hydrogen, Lewis base(s) (D) and support(s) (E) are contacted with one another. The contacted components (A-E) are combined in any order without carrying out any work-up of mixtures contained at intermediate stages, to obtain solid catalyst. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) solid catalyst, which is obtained by the above method; (2) catalyst system, which comprises solid catalyst(s); and (3) polymerization of olefins, which involves using solid catalyst.
