The device for the preparation of cryogenic fuel has a pressure vessel (17) with a heat exchanger (18) in the form of an evaporation bulb which has a casing tube inside of which is installed the pressure vessel formed by two concentrically disposed pipe sections, the outer of which is closed at the end with the exception of connecting pipes. Cryogenic fuel fed from a cryo-tank (11) first reaches the inner chamber of the inner pipe section and from this then flows through an annular gap between the inner and outer pipe sections. The outer pipe section on the outer side is washed over by hot medium directed from inside the casing tube.
