The security recognition system may be used on a computer monitor (1). An upper label (2) may be stuck to the frame surrounding the screen and may be printed with details of the manufacturer. A lower label (5) is stuck to the frame and may be removed by the user. The barcode (4) is printed or cut on the gap between the two labels and overlaps onto both labels. The barcode may be cut into the plastics frame and the two labels to make it impossible to erase, using a small circular saw mounted on a carriage moved on guide rails by a stepping motor.
