The sanitary towel has the shape of a wedge, cut out of a spherical or cylindrical body. It features a curved base surface (1), which is part of a cylinder surface and tapers towards the ends from its greatest width in the middle. Two planes (4,5) run diagonally upwards from the lateral boundary lines (2,3) of the base surface and meet up in a ridge edge (6). This edge is curved in the same direction as the base surface, although the curvature radius is greater.
