A first mobile telephone (FMT) (1) sends an unstructured supplementary service data (USSD) message to an intelligent network service (INS) (IN-Dienst) regarding a desired telephone conversation (DTC) with a second mobile telephone (SMT) (2). The INS sends a text message to the SMT with a request regarding payment of costs for the DTC. If the SMT accepts payment, it calls the FMT back. An Independent claim is also included for a device for making an operator call and connecting up telephone conversations with intelligent network services, i.e. for carrying out the method of the present invention.
