The method involves arranging the components (30,40) in such a way that they overlap in the region of the weld. This is done such that the edge of the respective upper component (30) protrudes over the edge of the lower component (40). The edge of the upper component is raised to form a gap during welding. An Independent claim is also included for a device for carrying out the method.
