Control signals for power switches are derived from supply voltages fed via supply lines and the power switches from the tractor to the trailer vehicle. A microprocessor (MC) operating voltage is obtained from the supply voltages and applies supply voltage proportional measurement signals to inputs of the MC measurement, which blocks each power switch with an output signal. Blocking of the power witches can terminate control of illumination devices.
