A process for producing plastic lenses for glasses, comprises working a plastic blank, using finished lenses and work process parameter data. The plastic blank is worked in one of a number of decentralized stations (14), and the data is processed in a central station (10) and used for individual glasses. It is then transferred to the decentralized stations or used as secondary data for non-individual glasses. The blank is molded and then worked by milling and grinding. After the input signal has been fed to the decentralized station, a workpiece carrier (66) is chosen, which is moved to a work unit (84). The data set that is read from the primary store (62) is added to secondary data and then fed to the central station.
