An integrated brake unit for a motorcycle comprises simultaneously operating (1,2) front (6) and rear (7) brakes, a brake pressure control unit (5) and wheel rotation sensors linked to the control unit to determine actual retardation against a reference value which governs partition between front and rear braking and locks wheels when stationary. An Independent claim is also included for a unit as above with ABS control.
