A data processing system has first (1) and second (13, 13', 13'') data processing devices for viewing and processing of data from data objects in relevant medical reports. The first data processor (1) uses rigidly specified data format to be stored and which cannot be changed by the user and views and processes the data objects. The second data processor (13, 13', 13'') uses copies of reports for presentation and/or processing of data from data objects by the user, also without knowing the syntax of the data objects, and the interfaces (11,12) of the two data processors (1,13) are interconnected so that data objects can pass from the first to the second data processor. An Independent claim is included for a distributed method for processing medically relevant data objects.
