The device has air feed and extraction pipes into/out of a room, a blower, a heat exchanger, a burner with waste gas pipe, and a hot water tank. The tank (8) is directly or indirectly heated by the burner (11), and the feed air to be heated is in heat exchange with the heat exchanger (3). The air flows through a channel (7) along the wall of the tank, which is in heat transfer connection with it. The channel is pref. a spiral coil and enclosed by the heat insulation around the tank. The waste gas pipe (14) passes over a heat exchanger for pre-heating of incoming outside air.
