A solvent-free coating composition obtained by mixing the starting components in a container involving:(i) complete or partial melting and (ii) grinding with cooling, where thermal energy transport in step (i) takes place via the grinding bodies is new. An Independent claim is included for the process of preparing the coating composition as described above.
