The thermopnuematic release element has a fuse (10), e.g. a glass ampule, released upon exceding a given temperature and a coaxial carbon doxide drive gas capsule (2) with a closure which is penetrated by a release needle (3), operated by a spring-loaded release cylinder (5). The retention device for the latter is provided by a cone (6) and cooperating balls (7), allowed to move inwards for release of the release cylinder upon operation of the fuse.
