A net (110) for keeping small animals off the paintwork of motor vehicles is dimensioned in such a way to directly cover the vehicle's radiator surface when the net is stretched out, and a mounting device (120,121) is provided to keep the net at a distance of about 5cm above the surface (210) of the radiator. The net has square meshes which have an edge length of 3cm. The net is rectangular in the main and the mounting device has two parallel-disposed rods between which the net is tensioned.
