Active influence on a driver's output occurs only if a fault has occurred on the driver's output for a preset period. The driver's output is checked in a cycle for fault occurrences. The preset period is regarded as spent if a fault condition has occurred during a predefined configurable number of consecutive cycles. A binary value represents a fault condition on a driver's output.
