Method for cleaning and or disinfecting soft objects such as washing or for therapeutic treatment of body parts in a water bath. According to the method a sound transducer is immersed in the bath and excited directly or indirectly via voltage or current signals to generate a base vibration in the audible range and an energetic sound spectrum in the ultrasound range. The resultant vibrations generate cavitation in the fluid. An Independent claim is made for a device for cleaning and or disinfecting soft objects such as washing or for therapeutic treatment of body parts.
