The procedure for the fully mechanical tensioning of tensioning components for prestressed concrete components involves anchoring the tensioning components on a common tensioning plate (2) on screws or spindles outside the tensioning frame or formwork. The tensioning plate has slots which allow the side engagement of claws (3a) of a tensioning press and by which the tensioning plate can be tensioned. Support screws (7) are provided to keep the tensioning plate in the tensioned position. An Independent claim is included for a tensioning device with one or more tensioning cylinders (10) with a piston (10a) which acts upon a tensioning device (3) with claws which engage in slots in a tensioning plate.
