Detecting multiple fault in brake control system, involves checking how many sensors are affected and deciding whether electronic braking force distribution signal light should be turned off or not
The method involves a first step in which, on detecting an adverse effect on a revolution rate sensor when the ignition switch is activated, both ABS and electronic braking force distribution signal lights are switched on and a second step in which, after detecting successful vehicle start-up, checking on reaching a certain speed how many sensors are affected and deciding if the electronic braking force distribution light should be turned off. The method involves a first step in which, on detecting an adverse effect on the functionality of a revolution rate sensor (12) when the ignition switch is activated, both anti-lock braking system and electronic braking force distribution signal lights (16,14) are switched on and a second step in which, after detecting a successful vehicle start-up, a check is made on reaching a certain speed as to how many sensors are affected and using the result to decide whether the electronic braking force distribution signal light should be turned off or not. Independent claims are also included for the following: (a) a system for detecting a multiple fault in a brake control system (b) a computer program for implementing the inventive method (c) and a computer program product for implementing the inventive method.
