Separating time multiplexed channels of high data rate optical signal in OTDM system involves selecting clock frequency approximating to lower data rate and regulating it to maximize optical power
The method involves using at least one demultiplexer (DEMUX) to separate one of the channels (S1,S2) at a lower data rate, setting a clock frequency for the demultiplexer to control an optical circuit, coupling out some power of the channel whose optical power is to be measured at the output of the optical circuit, selecting the clock frequency approximating to the lower data rate and regulating the clock frequency to maximize the optical power. AN Independent claim is also included for the following: (a) a demultiplexer for time- multiplexed channels of a transmitted signal with a high data rate.
