Navigation device for driving a motor vehicle in a traffic network, has a computer unit for calculation of a route to a target and means for detection of other objects and moving vehicles (32, 33) from the vehicle. Route advice can be given with reference to other vehicles. E.g. an instruction such as follow the car turning-off can be given. Optimally the navigation device has a head up display unit so that it can be clearly indicated to a driver to which other vehicle reference is being made.
