Fuel assembly for a boiling water reactor comprises fuel rods mounted using the bundle-in-basket system with spacers between. The gap between the spacers reduces when the reactor is operating. Intersecting bars (6c, 6d) in spacers on the outer edge of the bundle press directly on its casing (9), without intermediate springs.
