A computer records details of customer and goods like name and address and uses the delivery address of a locker unit and customer name under a secure encoding algorithm to work out a collection number later sent to the customer with details of pick-up, times and delivery via telephone, e-mail or short messaging service. Goods are delivered to the locker unit. An Independent claim is also included for a locker unit with a device for carrying out the method of the present invention.
