Support for concrete building components comprises an assembly (TA) of support fibers which are embedded in a uniformly distributed polymer binder (B). This has a diffusion resistance for water vapor when cured of at most 50000, a shear modulus (G) of at least 3000 N/mm2 and a tensile strength of at least 10 N/mm2 Independent claims are included for: (a) a method for making the support by impregnating fibers under pressure with a polymer binder as described above; and (b) apparatus for carrying out the method comprising a binder injection system (BI) with an injection pressure chamber (DR1) which is in contact with the fiber assembly.
