The convertible motor vehicle has a rear roof section (3) which extends between a window ledge line and upper roof section (7) lying above the passenger compartment, and a center section (5) including the rear windscreen. The center section is hinge-connected both to the chassis of the vehicle and to the upper roof section. The main pillars (4) on one side and the center section on the other side are each hinge-connected to the chassis and upper roof section, with the main pillars and center section forming components of a parallel link mechanism. An Independent claim is included for a hinged roof for a convertible motor vehicle.
